NBA: New Orleans Pelicans score franchise-record points total

The New Orleans Pelicans scored a franchise-record points total in their 153-124 victory over the Utah Jazz.

CJ McCollum registered 33 points as Herbert Jones Jr scored 22 points and Brandon Ingram added 18.

The Pelicans’ previous points record was set in a 149-129 victory over the Sacramento Kings in 2018.

Elsewhere, Jalen Williams scored with two seconds remaining to give Oklahoma City Thunder a 111-109 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led Thunder with 33 points and 10 assists, and his side sit top of the Western Conference with a 30-13 record this season.

However, ESPN reported, external that the Trail Blazers are filing an appeal against the result for not being granted a timeout before a decisive turnover with 15 seconds left in the fourth quarter.

It was Portland’s sixth loss in eight games and they managed just 43 points in the second half.

Nikola Jokic scored 31 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists to register his 13th triple-double of the season as the Denver Nuggets beat the Indiana Pacers 114-109.
